Fifty 50 Foods is making it easier for people to live a Low-Glycemic lifestyle with the industry’s broadest category of certified branded great tasting products. Our products contain carbs low on the Glycemic Index (GI) so they are digested slower and help maintain blood sugar levels.
Our company was founded by three people who had a common connection: diabetes. One founder had diabetes. One founder was a diabetes educator. And, one founder was a volunteer raising money for diabetes research.
Their vision was to create great-tasting Low-Glycemic foods that people living with diabetes could enjoy while managing their disease. Since 1991, Fifty 50 has given half of its profits to fund diabetes research, totaling more than 14 million to help prevent, treat and find a cure for the disease.
Today, our products are not only for people with diabetes. Many have found the benefits of adopting a diet comprised of foods that are low on the Glycemic Index (GI). We aim to create the broadest category of healthy, great-tasting certified Low-Glycemic foods so that we can all maintain a healthy diet, feel our best and eliminate the potential health risks associated with blood sugar fluctuations.

Why are Fifty 50 products low glycemic?
Fifty 50 works with food scientists to develop formulas for their products. Our formulas remove ingredients that will rapidly raise blood sugar levels and substitutes ingredients that will minimize rises in blood sugar without compromising taste.
How does a Low Glycemic Diet work?
All carbohydrates are not the same. Some “gush” into your blood stream and spike your blood sugar. Others just “trickle” in slowly keeping it low. Knowing which carbs are which and then choosing “tricklers” not “gushers” is the secret to making the diet work. Stick to foods with a Low Glycemic Index and you’ll lower your average blood sugar level for the day.
As you start eating more low glycemic foods, your blood sugar response will decrease so you may need to adjust your insulin or medication. We recommend you check your blood sugars frequently and record your results. Consult with your physician or diabetes educator before you start any diet and always follow their advice.
A low glycemic diet will not only help to improve your blood glucose control, it can also help produce an even flow of energy throughout the day and make you feel more energetic
